Colonies Zone holds five zone championships per year:
- SCY Championship in the spring
- SCM Championship in the fall
- 3 Open Water Championships
For the purpose of bidding for open water championships, the zone will be divided into 3 areas. Each area will run 1 open water swim per year as follows:
- Area 1 - NE, CT, AD, NI LMSC's
- Area 2 - MR, DV, NJ LMSC's
- Area 3 - MD, PV, VA LMSC's
